AFPI Policy Centre
The AFPI Policy Centre is a dedicated platform to drive thought leadership, advocacy, and research in Family Medicine and Primary Health Care policy. Established under the Academy of Family Physicians of India (AFPI), the Centre aims to serve as a hub for evidence-based policy development, stakeholder engagement, and strategic initiatives that strengthen the role of Family Medicine within India's healthcare system.
Through the Policy Centre, AFPI will actively engage with policymakers, academic institutions, healthcare organizations, and the wider public to promote policies that support comprehensive, continuous, and community-centered primary care. It will host policy briefs, research reports, expert opinions, and advocacy campaigns on issues critical to the advancement of Family Medicine, rural health, health workforce development, and health systems strengthening.
The Centre also seeks to provide a platform for Family Physicians to contribute to health policy discourse, offering training, mentorship, and resources to build capacity for policy leadership. By bridging clinical practice with policy innovation, the AFPI Policy Centre will play a vital role in shaping the future of equitable, high-quality primary healthcare in India.
